Saturday’s Severe Weather Forecast
After a fabulous Friday, things will go downhill. The possibility of severe weather is back in the forecast. Chicago to Philadelphia needs to be prepared for hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes. Isolated power outages are possible due to downed trees and wires. The main threats are damaging winds, flooding and hail, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.
The GFS and NAM are in decent agreement. A few days ago the GFS was showing no severe activity, but the NAM was showing a significant event. Looks like the NAM has the advantage so far. Regardless, both models show ample CAPE, Lift, ETC.
Sunday will be a great day for a majority of the Northeast. The cold front will exit the region leaving mostly dry conditions with the exception of a few showers.
