Week Remainder Outlook; Weekend Troubles?
We have been dealing with cooler weather the last few days, but this will change slightly over the next two days. Wednesday and Thursday will feature temperatures in the upper 70s, possibly reaching 80 in a few isolated areas. You have also noticed there have been mostly cloudy conditions for Monday and Tuesday. This will change for Wednesday and Thursday. We will notice more in the way of sunshine, but clouds will return for Friday and Saturday, resulting in to cooling of temperatures to the low and mid 70s once again. This leads to the POTENTIAL for the end of the weekend troubles.
The GFS has been showing a coastal storm, which there is, off the Southeast US coast. It was trending further north with the storm, showing rain over most of the area Sunday and for most of Monday. However, it has slightly changed. The GFS now shows rain coming into the area possibly Sunday afternoon and exiting the area early Monday. Here are the snapshots of the 18z GFS from Tuesday, September 22:
Right now, I would say there is a 40% chance we will see rain towards the end of this weekend, right now Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. The reason being is because the GFS has been consistent with rain coming in our direction. The CMC, well….. it’s….. questionable. It’s only Tuesday and we have plenty of time to iron the details out. We should have a better idea of whether it will rain to end the weekend around later Thursday and Friday. In fact, it may be more towards Friday.
