Severe Weather Threat: June 15

This Sunday night, we are dealing with some very heavy rain and some thunderstorms across the area. There are two rounds of rain. The first one currently this Sunday night, and another one that makes it in after midnight. The HRRR depicts that the heavy rain and thunderstorms will stick around for the morning commute. The Storm Prediction Center has put most of New Jersey (except along immediate coast and around NYC) in a SLGT risk of severe weather on Monday. Long Island has been placed in a MRGL risk of severe weather. Below is the HRRR and current SPC Thunderstorm outlook:

The HRRR also shows some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms around throughout the day on Monday. So, Monday afternoon just expect clouds and scattered rain showers, according to the HRRR. Of course, there will be updates throughout Monday afternoon, so stay tuned to twitter! Some thunderstorms tomorrow AM could produce some localized flooding, so PLEASE remember: “Turn around, don’t drown!”
